The major part of the Havelock population is Bengalese. The island is divided into villages which are numbered. The most popular village on the island is Village number 1(boat dock) and Village number 3 (bazaar). It is easy to spot dolphins across the waters that surround the island.

Tourists in great number are attracted by Elephant Beach, one of the popular beaches of Havelock Island. Through snorkeling one can explore variety of corals in the island.
Located 3 km away from the Havelock Island, Radhanagar Beach has azure water and clear sand.
Kalapathar Beach is characterized by the black rocks that line up at the coastline. It is named after the Kalapathar village.

Located at a distance of 4.5 km from the Havelock Island Vijay Nagar Beach has attracted many tourists. It is appreciated for its kaleidoscopic views, serene water and cotton soft sands.
